The nominations for this year’s eCommerce Awards London 2017 were announced today, and we are absolutely thrilled to have been nominated in two different categories for the build of our clients’ sites; Ribble Cycles and AKW! Many other notable agencies from the North of England are also nominated in this nationwide competition which recognises the best of eCommerce in the UK. Other websites and brands also nominated include businesses such as Virgin, O2, Royal Mail and Barbour.
We were shortlisted with Ribble Cycles in the ‘Best Leisure, Entertainment, Sport, Travel & Holidays eCommerce’ for the site and the BikeBuilder. Ribble is a leading purveyor of bikes and cycling accessories in the UK, originating in Lancashire in 1897. The BikeBuilder is a complex system that allows users to configure their perfect bike, from the novice cyclist to the expert athlete. The builder can work with all abilities, with over 147,744,000,000+ potential variations. The technology is usable on desktop, tablet and mobile and has reduced the time it takes to create a bike, and has improved conversion rates and decreased technical queries.
We were also shortlisted with AKW in the ‘Best B2B eCommerce’ for the site build. AKW is the UK’s leading manufacturer of accessible bathroom, kitchen and mobility support solutions supplying predominantly to councils and housing associations. Formed over 25 years ago, AKW have a worldwide presence with operations in North America and Europe. The build involved increasing the business’s efficiency by helping to drive business through an online channel, releasing pressure on telesales executives. The project involved overcoming technical key obstacles to bring the process into one central point of entry in order to transform the business.
Commercial Director James Hyett enthused: “It is a tremendous honour to be shortlisted alongside fellow agencies and some of the most significant brands in the world of eCommerce. This news comes at a time where Vortex have successfully recruited for key roles and acquired a number of new clients. The culmination of events and the sense of excitement in the office provides us business owners with some solace in that the hard work is paying off, and the future is bright.”
Event Director Adam Clark confirmed there were “record” number of entries “in the hundreds” which is a testament to the team’s hard work on the site builds when up against such competition. We are very pleased our work was recognised on such a regional scale and amongst so many of our peers. The awards take place on the 27th September in the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
