We didn’t need any #MondayMotivation in this office last week, as on the Monday 25th September the finalists for the Digital Experience Awards 2017 were announced! We were overjoyed to learn that we’d been selected as a finalist in the ‘Business Transformation’ category for our work with our client, AKW.
AKW is the UK’s leading manufacturer of accessible bathroom, kitchen and mobility support solutions for older people, disabled and people with reduced mobility. Their products are also distributed into the European markets of France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain as well as North America, with over 1 million satisfied customers worldwide. They work closely with Occupational Therapists, Housing Associations, Care Homes and leading research institutes to develop the products and services they and their customers need most.
We were approached by AKW’s Business Change Director with the challenge of building their online store. The objective was to increase efficiency with autonomous tools and processes that would drive the business through the more profitable channel of online. There were several key technical obstacles to overcome to bring their process into one central point of entry which required complex functionality and thorough planning to achieve the completed project.
The UK Digital Awards are one of the largest awards recognising digital excellence and celebrate the best of the digital and customer experience markets across the UK. To be in with a chance of winning, entries had to be submitted in August and entrants could submit work to a number of categories spanning multiple sectors such as ‘Not for Profit’, ‘Best Online UX B2B’ and ‘Use of SEO’. Entries are then shortlisted and entrants are required to prepare a presentation for the judges on the day of the awards, which are then judged and the winners are announced in the afternoon. The awards will this year be held at the grand location of Wembley Stadium in London on the 22nd November, along with the UK Business Awards.
We managed to achieve success in last year’s awards by coming out on top and winning the award in the ‘Best Online UX B2C’ category with the Ribble Cycles website and the BikeBuilder function created by Vortex on the site, and are hoping to emulate the success of last year’s awards again this time around.
We’re looking forward to the ceremony, and wish all the other shortlisted entries the best of luck on the day!
