We are proud to announce we have joined forces with grant-making breast cancer awareness charity Walk the Walk to build their newly-launched online shop! The eCommerce site features a range of ‘Walk’ specific clothing and accessories designed and created by Walk the Walk. Each year the online shop attracts thousands of customers, both those that are taking on a walking challenge, and also general supporters of the charity.

The new site now provides a slick and simple to use online shopping experience for the public to purchase Walk the Walk’s merchandise, of which all profits go directly to the charity. With the faster, more advanced online store build, the aim was to improve the user experience and increase sales. This would hopefully widen the charity’s reach and aid in promoting the ‘Walk the Walk’ challenges.

Walk the Walk specialises in walking challenges of all distances for all ages. It is famous for its unique flagship event, ‘The MoonWalk’, which sees thousands of women and men each year taking on a half or full marathon at midnight around London in the trademark decorated bra. Over £6 million is raised annually at this one event, which is then granted to other charities and organisations to advance research and care for those living with breast cancer.

Walk the Walk’s Commercial Director, Guy Aubertin, comments; ‘We approached Vortex to overhaul the Walk the Walk shop. The brief was to follow the branding and structure of our main site. In principle, to enable a seamless experience for our customers as they move from our main site at walkthewalk.org into our e-commerce environment. Our aim was to improve the product presentation, adhere to the latest standards for mobile optimisation and hopefully increase average basket value.

Vortex have completed the project on time and within budget. What has been most impressive is the way in which they have solved problems of transferring data out of an old Magneto platform and into the latest version. Vortex have made the daunting task of launching a new website a relatively relaxing and comfortable process with their obviously talented workforce’.

James Hyett, Vortex’s Commercial Director enthused; ‘It’s fantastic to be aligned with this wonderful initiative. The subject matter is close to a number of people’s hearts in our business. We were delighted to be given the opportunity to help achieve the goals set out by Walk the Walk and help them fight the good fight against breast cancer.’

We’re delighted to be involved in helping such a great cause grow and gain more support. To visit the store and have a look round, you can see it here!
